Icelandic Foals Northwestern Iceland Horse images available for purchase at jmillerphoto.com Notes about this image |
Photographer's Notes: Icelandic FoalsMid-summer shows the results of winter's breeding and spring's initial upbringing. Such is the case here with a pair of very pretty Icelandic foals walking in a field in Northwestern Iceland. These two have grown up a little bit and are grooming each other. I like this shot in particular because of the implied motion in brown horse's tail.Technical Notes: This image was made in early July with the Canon EOS 10D and what was at the time a reasonably new toy for me: the Canon EF 300mm f4 IS L lens. This was handheld at ISO 100 at 1/350th of a second and is as crisp as anything I ever shot with the 10D. Going back I'd likely use a monopod to give me a little more stability and to maybe open up the depth of field a little bit. |
